On December 11, 2022, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to dedicate three National Ayush Institutes. The institutes are: All India Institute of Ayurveda in Goa, National Institute of Unani Medicine in Ghaziabad and National Institute of Homoeopathy in Delhi. These satellite institutes are expected to strengthen research, facilitate international collaborations and provide affordable Ayush for the larger community.
Ayush Sarnaanda Sonowal, Union Minister for Ayush, made the announcement during a New Delhi press conference on Tuesday at National Media Centre.
Sonowal told the media that the central government will continue to strengthen its ability to provide affordable healthcare to all citizens and regions of the country through these institutes.
These three satellite institutes are expected to create an additional 400 seats for students who wish to pursue UG and PG courses as well as 550 beds within these three streams.
9th World Ayurveda Congress : Only Two Days Left!
Sonowal shared information about the 9th World Ayurveda Congress & Arogya Expo that will be held in Panjim Goa, from 8-11 December. The valedictory ceremony of WAC will be held in Goa on the 11th of December. Prime Minister Modi is expected to attend.
The WAC is expected to be the largest event in the traditional wellness system. It will bring together more than 5000 people from around the world. These include Ayurveda stakeholder, industry leaders and practitioners, traditional healers as well as educators, students, pharmaceutical manufacturers, medicinal plant growers, and marketing strategists. The Ayush Ministry says that the event will demonstrate the efficacy and strength of Ayush System of Medicines on a global level. This year’s theme is “Ayurveda For One Health”.
The press conference was attended by Dr Munjapara Mahendrabhai, Minister of Ayush and Secretary of the Ministry of Ayush Vaidyarajesh Koutcha, as well as other officials of Ministry of Ayush.
