Panjim is the capital of Goa. The 9th World Ayurveda Congress and Arogya Expo kicked off in Panjim. The theme for the four-day event is Ayurveda For One Health. It aims to inject new dynamism into Ayurveda, a holistic healing system that’s affordable and authentic with a global footprint. On the first day, more than 4,500 participants registered for the event. This included over 400 foreign delegates representing 53 countries.
More than 5000 delegates registered for this event and more than 3000 new papers were received. The event was well attended by Ayurveda experts.
He added that the event will feature 150 keynote speakers and international delegates from 35 countries, the largest number in WAC’s history. There will also be 400 expo stands.
Three lakh visitors is expected to attend this event.
The World Ayurveda Foundation is organizing the event, an initiative of Vijnana Bharat, with support from the Union Ministry of AYUSH, and the Goa Govt. Goa. The valedictory address will be delivered by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the 11th of December, the final day of the event.
Release of the third series of Professor Ayushman
AYUSH has launched a major initiative to raise awareness of medicinal plants in children. A comic book series featuring Professor Ayushman, conceived by National Medicinal Plant Boards (NMPB) of the Ministry of AYUSH to educate children about medicinal plants and home remedies was released. On the first day, Dr Pramod Sawant, Goa’s Chief Minister released the third edition on the 9th World Ayurveda Congress and Arogya Exhibition. The comic book was distributed to dignitaries.
